If you've come to Gearheads, You've come to Davis Harstad. Davis is an ASE master certified mechanic. He has a memory like a filing cabinet, of what works and what doesn't. He is meticulous and methodical and applies those talents to every car he diagnoses and repairs, always considering the characteristics of the year, make and model. Above all, Davis is conscientious and makes his recommendations based on necessity and longevity. It is because of this, Gearheads fosters a culture of  communication with each client to make sure we are meeting your needs. Nothing more, and nothing less. 


In The Beginning...

Davis has been under the hood since before he could reach the gas pedal. Of course, he got his first taste of auto repair when he bought his first car. From then on, he was hooked. One day, Davis wanted to run his dream shop, and do it right! With his enthusiastic wife by his side, he took his passion to education and graduated from Universal Technical Institute in 2008. They returned home to Lexington and Davis was hired at a Jaguar and Land Rover dealership where he worked until the dealership closed. It was here he learned his capacity for the more complicated engineering styles of European vehicles. He then worked at a German vehicle dealership where he garnered lots of attention for his diagnostic and quality control abilities as well as his reliability, earning him the title of Technician of the Month for most of the months he was employed by the dealership. Soon though, Davis had outgrown his employability, as he tended to lean into his own ethics rather than company policy.  That conscientiousness made Davis very busy, very quickly....a


Here and Now

With a family, two kids and a growing list of clients, Davis and Rachael  opened Gearheads in April of 2013 and hit the ground running with a full schedule from day one. Gearheads has not stopped serving a loyal and highly satisfied client base since the doors opened.  The referrals are testimonies we never get sick of hearing.
